Calanit is a double salt of calcium nitrate and ammonium nitrate. It therefore contains two sources of nitrogen that are easily absorbed by the plant.
Calcium nitrate is the main source of calcium in fertigation, especially when irrigation water is low in calcium. Calcium plays a crucial role in cell division and the building of cell walls. Calcium is therefore essential for plant construction and growth.
Calanit is not only chlorine-free, it also prevents the accumulation of chlorine in the leaves.
Calanit can also combat the harmful effects of water salinity. Increasing the concentration of calcium ions in solution can counteract the inhibitory effects of sodium on root elongation.
